About Conway Family Farms
Established as an operating sustainable small-farm 20 years
ago, Shaun & Lorrie Conway are continuing the tradition of
maintaining a family farm. Daughters Ashley & Amber
have been valuable partners working along side their parents
in the building of the farm. Ashley & Amber share their
parents passion for agriculture and have chosen to pursue
agriculturally related college educations. In the fall of
2012, both girls began Graduate degrees; Ashley is working
toward a Masters in Ruminant Nutrition after returning from
27 months of Peace Corps Service in Zambia, Africa, and
Amber has started her journey toward a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
Nestled in the rural hills of Fern Prairie, Washington,
Conway Family Farms decorates the countryside with its
striking grey barns and white traditional farmhouse. The
farm operates on a modest 5 acres which offers grazing
fields to support the livestock, the best blueberries in the
area in a U-pick blueberry field and a variety of
interconnecting other enterprises. The clean and tidy barns
are home to more than 30 pampered Nubian Dairy goats—the
‘floppy-eared’ goats and a dozen beautiful Border Liecester
sheep, which symbolize rural living at its very best.
At
Conway Family Farm we
focus on the
old fashioned way of doing things, where each component of
the farm helps another part. We strive to
produce only the finest quality products and take pride in
offering them personally to individual
consumers who seek unique quality food and homespun gift
products. To learn more about us personally, and how

Not Just Your Average Farm
Conway Family Farms is not just your average farm. At our
family farm we have a love for the land and animals. We care
about our surroundings, our neighbors and our customers.
Our herd of 30, well-cared for Nubian dairy goats provide
delicious
Grade ‘A’ Raw Goat Milk as
well as delicious cheeses.
We have
been providing quality raw goat milk since 2004 and processing cheese commercially in our modest
cheese
processing facility since 2009. We are proud to be
producing exquisite fresh chèvré, in a variety of flavors,
for all to enjoy.
In 2012 we added feta style cheese and have begun aging our
own signature variety of pressed cheese. It will be
available for our customers in 2013.
In addition to the dairy goats, we maintain a small flock of
registered
Border Leicester sheep. The
wool
from the sheep is crafted into a variety of wonderful
products and of course, each year provides us with a limited
supply of all-natural, grass-fed lamb and goat meat.
As well as the sheep and goats, we maintain honeybees , a
flock of laying hens and a small commercial U-Pick blueberry
field. The farm grounds are splashed by beautiful
lavender gardens which provides fragrance in our
hand-crafted soaps & lotions. Each of these
enterprises provide support and components to one another
creating a sustainable unit.
We take as much pride in the products produced from our farm as we do in the
appearance of our farm making this a favorite for our customers.

At
our family farm everything that we produce is done the
old-fashioned way. By caring for the land and surroundings
it helps us produce the finest products possible.
We
hope that each of our customers will experience the
satisfaction of building a stronger community by knowing
where their food comes from and who the farmer is. |
Our Commitment to the Highest-Quality Products
Shaun and Lorrie are continuing the family farming
tradition because they have a passion for the land and
animals. The farm is a sustainable farm. This means the
farm is run in harmony with the land and the animals; no
hormones, and no commercial fertilizers. Just pure and
natural techniques that keep the goats healthy and happy
and the dairy products wholesome and chemical free. It
means that the cheese produced from Conway Family Farms;
chèvré (in several different flavors), feta and aged
pressed cheeses are pure and natural. And the best part?
The cheeses taste great too.
"We do not farm for the
money; it is the appeal of the lifestyle, an
appreciation of the moments of calm while embracing
those that are hectic and above all, it is a love of the
land and animals."-Lorrie Conway
